1969 1500 Beetle - My First Car!
My first car at the tender age of 18. This car was purchased in 1986 in the condition shown in the picture, complete with tasteful additions such as the hardwood running boards, Porsche Fuch look-a-like wheels trims (nice), stainless steel along the bottoms of the doors and rear quarters (to cover up the rust?!) and a huge ariel out back!
This car was to be the basis of my future project Cal Looker, but the more British winters it made it through the worse it got. It probably had more patchwork metal than original! I therefore looked for a more suitable donor car in better condition, the result of which was the '73 1300 which became 'Trophy Trap'.
